The journey begins: Planning for an adventure

For years, we’ve dreamed of taking a long journey together as a family. A real adventure—one that stretches beyond a few weeks of vacation and instead immerses us in new ways of living, thinking, and experiencing the world. Now, we’re doing it. In August 2025, we’ll pack up our lives and step into the unknown, setting off on a 10-month journey through Asia.

But before we can go, there’s a lot to figure out.

We need to find someone to rent our home—someone who will not only love our space but also take care of our two fluffy cat sisters and five hens. And then there’s Akira, our Samoyed. We think we’ve found the perfect family for her. They sound amazing, and we believe she’ll have a fantastic year with them while we’re away.

Then there’s the logistical side of things: budgets, vaccines, insurance, where to stay, and how to structure homeschooling on the road. These are big questions, and we want to bring you along for this part of the journey too.

Beyond just planning, we want to connect with others who are dreaming of, have taken, or are currently on similar journeys. We love our community in the ecovillage, but we also want to be part of a larger network of families who have chosen to step outside the conventional path and embrace the world as their classroom.

As artists, this journey is more than just travel for us. We want to explore platforms for writing and filmmaking—not just for daily updates but to create an artistic film capturing the essence of this adventure. More on that later.

So, this is our starting point. Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing our planning process, our thoughts and challenges, and—when the time comes—our experiences on the road. We hope you’ll follow along as we take this leap, as we dream big, travel far, and embrace the unknown.

Here’s to the adventure ahead! ✨
